How can I enable Google Analytics on my widgets?
Within this article you will learn how to enable Google Analytics tracking for one or all of the online reservation systems.
Once you have it set up you will be able to track your customers behavior during the booking process, through the Events listed below. You will, of course, be able to use the provided Events to create Goals within the Google Analytics as well.
Before you get started make sure that you already have a Google Analytics account. If you do not have one, you can sign up for an account here.
Basic instructions
- Login to your Orioly account then click Widgets & Plugins.
- Find Google Analytics in the Plugins section and click Enable.
- Add the Tracker ID that you can find in your Google Analytics account.
- Select the widget you would like to bind the Google Analytics tracker to.
- Click Save.
How to find the Tracker ID on your Google Analytics account
On your Google Analytics account:
- Click Admin on the sidebar menu (gear icon).
- In the “property” column, select the property connected with your website.
- Click Tracking Info.
- Select Tracking Code.
- Copy your tracking code in the format UA-XXXXXXXX-X.
How to set up goals to track actions during the booking process
To easily track on Google Analytics the actions users are taking while booking an activity, you should set up Goals on your account.
- Login to your Google Analytics account.
- Click Admin on the sidebar menu (gear icon).
- In the “view” column. Select the view that you want to add goals to.
- Click Goals.
- Click + NEW GOAL.
- On Goal setup, select Custom from the options. Click Continue.
- On Goals description, give a name to your goal and select Event as the goal type.
- On Goal details you should fill out all the Event conditions according to the information in the next section.
Note: You should create a new goal for each set of Event conditions presented.
Note 2: You should select Equals to from the drop-down menu next to the condition you are editing. - Click Save.
Types of Events
Orioly comes with 6 Events that are used to track your customers journey through the booking process, which you can also use to set up Goals.
Event 1: Booking started
The event will trigger when the availability calendar is opened through the use of the “Book Now” button.
Note: This event is only available for the Book Now Button widget.
Category: Booking started

The event will trigger when the availability step is opened.
