Plitvice Lakes National Park, as the flagship of Croatian tourism, decided to take a digital step forward and invest in new ways to promote its offer through online channels.
As part of the Action Plan for visitor management, this year they started promoting and selling tickets through the GetYourGuide online platform. But they didn’t stop there – they contacted Orioly for assistance in integrating their own ticketing system with GetYourGuide.
Now Plitivice sales on OTA channels are synchronized with their webshop, which avoids overbooking, a common issue when selling through multiple channels.
“For the last few months, we have been quietly developing the connection of several systems that will enable our UNESCO-protected pearl to be sold through new channels. It’s a complex project that we managed to realize within just two months,” said Vesna Milanovic, our Customer Success Manager.
This represents a huge achievement for Croatia’s tourism offer as it will open the doors for promoting and selling tickets on similar global marketplaces.

The whole project was completed in two months and was carried out by the marketing and sales teams of Plitvice Lakes National Park, the webshop team, and the development team of Orioly.
The technology provided by Orioly allows online reservations and payments, as well as the distribution of offers to online travel agents.

The year 2023 showed that the tourism industry must embark on a digital transformation for better management, and ultimately the enhancement of the overall travel experience of travelers.
With this move, Plitvice Lakes National Park has shown that they are aligned with these trends, which will lead to new ideas and products, better promotion of their offer, and an increase in the quality of their services, which includes a seamless booking process of their tickets.
